PGxAI is honored to welcome Roni Zeiger—former Head of Health Strategy at Meta, former Chief Health Strategist at Google, and co‑founder of Smart Patients—as Product Strategy Advisor.
Roni is a physician and product leader with more than two decades of experience bridging clinical care, community‑centered product development, and digital health. He spent 17 years as an urgent care physician at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center, grounding his product work in the realities of frontline care.
From 2019 to 2023, Roni served as Head of Health Strategy at Meta, partnering across product, policy, and research to advance health initiatives at scale. Earlier, from 2006 to 2012, he was Chief Health Strategist at Google, helping shape the company’s approach to consumer health and making health information more useful and accessible.
In 2012, Roni co‑founded Smart Patients, an online community where patients and caregivers learn from each other, and served as CEO through 2019. In 2024, he brought his passion for community‑driven technology to GirlTrek as Director of Product Development, supporting a health movement engaging more than one million Black women. Since November 2024, he has advised Added Health, Moneta Health, Noora Health, HERA Digital Health, and Streetwyze on product strategy, product management, and AI in health.
At PGxAI, Roni will advise on patient‑centered product strategy, provider adoption, and the responsible application of AI in pharmacogenomics decision support—ensuring our platform translates cutting‑edge science into intuitive, trustworthy tools for clinicians and patients.
